49. Wolf Parade - Expo 86Intro to Wolf Parade: 'Apologies to the Queen Mary' came out of nowhere in 2005. It was raw, rough-around-the-edges indie music. The throaty vocals, the witty lyrics and all. 2008's 'At Mount Zoomer kept up the momentum and was very direct. The songs weren't as varied as per the previous effort but it worked. This works too. There's plenty of echo on the vocals, quite a bit of synth production, and as usual a lot of attitude. This is solid. This is sound. Wearing their hearts on their sleeves, Wolf Parade deliver again.
