Rarely do you get that evocative feeling as soon as you hit play. You hear an artist's voice, a piece of music, and it just stops you in your tracks. Not that I was on any tracks, because I was actually in bed with insomnia. But you see what I mean.

Usually, when I say "tracks", I'm associating it with musical tracks or running tracks. But I don't mean either here.

Nick Hakim. Yeah, that soulful voice. The falsetto. It's all around. It's mainly a producer's record, this one.

I featured it in some of my Shadow Power mixes, a couple of his cuts. And I'm glad he's on my radar. It's uh. It's a shapeshifter.
